Gautam Gupta
Gautam has spent his career building and backing companies, bringing the perspective of both founder and investor. Influenced by his family’s immigrant journey, he developed an entrepreneurial mindset early and has long been drawn to founders with the ambition and resilience to build enduring companies. His experience across operating and investing has given him a deep appreciation for what it takes to scale organizations, navigate uncertainty, and make high-stakes decisions under pressure.
Most recently, Gautam co-built and helped lead TCV’s Velocity Fund alongside Matt Brennan. Prior to TCV, he was a Partner at M13 and earlier spent several years at General Catalyst, where he began his investing career at age 18 and helped expand the firm’s presence on the West Coast. As an investor, he has backed dozens of companies across sectors and stages.
Earlier in his career, Gautam founded and served as CEO of NatureBox, growing the business to millions of customers and more than $50 million in revenue. His experience as a founder continues to shape his approach as an investor: he understands both the ambition required to build something meaningful and the practical challenges of scaling teams, raising capital, and leading through complexity. He strives to be the kind of partner he would have wanted as a CEO. Gautam also serves on the Advisory Board at Babson College, his alma mater.
